If allowed to contribute, I would propose as a topic for Foo Camp:
The correlation between the availability of energy sources and the richness of culture.

Mark : In particular, I wanted a definition that would make it clear whether "spiritual" was supposed to mean a type of feeling that was mysterious and enjoyable, but could in principle be due to complex biochemical and neurological processes, or whether "spiritual" was intended to imply something outside of the physical view of reality.

Well, I see an overlap between the two definitions.
If it is something outside of the physical view of reality, there is a good chance it is not describable through biochemical/neurological processes.. and if it isn't describable thus, it is understandable that that something is considered "mysterious".
One may of course imagine effects that are biochemical/neurological. But one can't confuse the cause and the effect(s).

Drink any diet coke? That always does it to me.

Seriously, the formulas in sodas, especially fountain sodas, are particularly nasty. One of the nasties for me is acesulfame potassium, which I now avoid. Also, anything with maltose, fructose, malitol, or pretty much any other ol or ose will do me in.

Talked to me gastroenterologist after my recent colonoscopy, and he said they do the same for him, so, mostly, watch what you drink as well as what you eat - it may not be the food at all....

Oh no! So sorry to hear of your digestive illness and troubles getting home. You were perfectly fine when you left my house! Must have been the pint, or the google food....as my house was not yet full of rat poison or fox urine dust.
