Well Clifford, one favor demands one in return. I'll try yours and here is one for you:

One pound of carrots

One quart of milk

Use your food processor to mash the carrots into a mush. Put the carrot mush into your stir fry pan and add the milk. Now slowly boil off the milk, stirring frequently. Takes about one hour. In the last five minutes of cooking add some honey or molasses if you wish and some raisins.

You can dry it out further by placing it into cup cake forms and baking for about 1/2 hour at 350 degrees. Store it in the fridge overnight or eat it warm.

What is it? It is carrot cake, East Indian style, and it needs no flour at all. You will still need to eat it with a spoon or fork since it won't quite form like flour does but the carrot flavor comes out really sweet.

Clifford, yes that's true. But restaurants are very expensive here compared to the US. Here you can buy 250 grams of sliced mixed vegetables for 1 dollar. This has to be fried for about 6 minutes.

Thanks Count Iblis. I'm of the snobby opinion that if you're going to buy most of the stuff pre-prepared, you might as well just go out to a restaurant. you miss the pleasure of picking the vegetables from the farmer's (or other) market and the meat yourself from the butcher, and handling it yourself, which is all-important in the process, imho. And it probably all tastes better. Like your own beef stock/broth would if you make it yourself too.

But sure, if that works for you...go for it.

Cheers,

-cvj
